After a violent, deadly string of tornadoes cut through OK, MO, TN, MS, AL, GA on Saturday and Sunday combined - Monday is a day of reprieve for most of the areas that were victimized by the severe weather on the weekend. The cold front that sliced through parts of the southeast stirring up the active vicious weather has moved offshore; what remains is the upper-level low pressure core that in part was responsible for the activity as it remain situated over the northeast today.
RADAR: Interactive RadarCold air and an unstable air source wrapped into the system with bring rain, thundershowers, and cooler-than-seasonal temperatures to the Upper Ohio Valley and mid-Atlantic states. As the low continues to move eastward over the Atlantic coast, the rainfall let behind today will range from a tenth on an inch to 2 inches with the heaviest rainfall likely to be deposited over VA, WV, MD, DE, southern NJ, and NY.
REGIONS: EAST | SOUTH | MIDWEST | WESTThe West and central regions of the country by comparison remain relatively quiet. High pressure will keep the weather picture fair, dry, and sunny in particular in the southwest. For southern CA and AZ - temperatures will be in the 90s yet again.
